CROW EARNS PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK HONORS - Cowgirl senior Jennifer Crow earned her first-ever Big 12 Player of the Week award this week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon. It is the second naming this season for an OSU player, as Tari Cummings earned the award on Dec. 20. Crow, who was named Rookie of the Week three times during her first season, averaged 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals in two games last week.
AN OSU WIN WOULD ...
... be the 300th victory in Coach Dick Halterman's career at OSU.
... improve the Cowgirls' record to 13-7 overall, 5-3 in Big 12 action.
... be the second win in a row.
... improve OSU's record against Missouri to 19-20.
... improve Oklahoma State's home record to 7-1.
LAST TIME - Jennifer Crow had a career day with 34 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as the Cowgirls defeated the Colorado Buffaloes, 75-72. Crow was 12-of-26 from the field, connected on 6-of-10 three pointers and was 4-of-6 from the free-throw line. Reba Johnson added a career-high 16 rebounds, a team-season high. The Cowgirls, who trailed by seven at the half, 47-40, fell behind by as many as 14 just 2:41 into the second period. Oklahoma State then went on a 21-0 run, including 11 by Crow, and led, 61-54, with 11:35 remaining in the game. OSU led by as many as 11 at the 7:56 mark when Devon Magness scored two of her seven points on a layup on the left side fed by Johnson. CU's Mandy Nightingale, from Sapulpa, Okla., hit a trey to cut the lead back into single digits. The Buffaloes, trailing by three with 23 seconds left, tried to get a shot off with about 10 seconds remaining, but Nightingale's shot was blocked by Shelby Hutchens. CU settled for a two-point bucket, and Cowgirl Jessica Spinner hit two free throws with 3.5 seconds remaining for the final score.

CROW AT THE LINE - Senior Jennifer Crow set an OSU school record vs. Lamar when she was successful on 12-of-12 trips to the free-throw line. She broke the previous record of 10-of-10, set by Crista Troester in 1983, and duplicated four times since, the most recent time by Cheri Edwards in 1998. One game later vs. Tulsa, Jennifer broke her own record by connecting on 13-of-13 free throws. Crow set another school record from the charity stripe by connecting on 30 consecutive free throws. The previous record was 28, set by Jamie Siess in 1987-88. Jennifer made her last three attempts vs. Illinois, then was a perfect 25-of-25 vs. Lamar and Tulsa. She hit her first two vs. Oral Roberts, but then missed her 31st attempt. She is currently shooting 86.7 percent (98-of-113) from the line. Jennifer also owns two of the top four single-game free-throw shooting performances in the nation.

SOMETHING TO CROW ABOUT - Jennifer Crow is about to become the 10th player in school history to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career. She will also become the first player in school history to record 1,500 points, 500 boards, 250 assists and 150 steals in a career. She currently has 1,551 points, 495 rebounds, 250 assists and 164 steals. She needs just five rebounds to reach that milestone.
FRESHMEN DUO GETTING PT - Freshman Chantoya Hawkins has started 17 games this season, while fellow freshman Shelby Hutchens has started 13 contests this year. That's the most starts by a true freshman since 1993-94, when Cheri Edwards started 28 in her first season as a Cowgirl. The last time two true freshmen started at least 13 games was in 1992-93, when Stacy Coffey, Amy Scales and Yogi York started 32, 32, and 31, respectively.
TRIO TAKING CHARGE - After 19 games this season, Oklahoma State has five players averaging at least eight points per game, and three are averaging more than six rebounds per contest. Jennifer Crow leads the team in scoring, averaging 20.3 points per game, including a career-high 34 vs. Colorado. She is also averaging 6.4 rebounds per contest. Junior Tari Cummings is averaging 17.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, including careers highs in points (33) and rebounds (15) vs. Washington. Sophomore Kara Faulk is averaging 8.2 ppg and 7.8 boards per game, while freshman Chantoya Hawkins is averaging 10.5 points per contest. Mandy Stuber, who played in her first game of the season vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi after suffering a stress fracture in her foot, is averaging 8.2 ppg.
BIG 12 INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS - Jennifer Crow is second in the league in scoring, averaging 20.3 points per game. She trails UT's Edwina Brown, who is averaging 22.9 points per contest. Junior Tari Cummings, who would rank fourth at 17.9 ppg, no longer qualifies, as to be ranked each player must appear in at least 75 percent of their team's games. Cummings would also be second in rebounding at 9.4 boards per game, behind Keitha Dickerson of Texas Tech (9.8). Kara Faulk would rank 11th in overall rebounding at 7.8 per game. Crow also ranks seventh in assists per game (4.58), and fourth in three-pointers made per game (2.32). Chantoya Hawkins ranks 12th in the conference in steals, averaging 2.26 per contest. Crow is second in free-throw percentage and 10th in three-point percentage. Faulk, who is currently out, would lead the league in offensive boards at 3.85 per contest.
COWGIRLS 64th IN RPI - Oklahoma State remains 64th in the latest Rating Percentage Index polls for the second consecutive week. Texas Tech leads the Big 12 at eighth, while Oklahoma is ninth. OSU is 4-5 vs. teams ranked in the top 100, including a win over 24th-rated Southwest Missouri State.
