Cowboy Cross Country Wins District V Championship

Stillwater, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's 13th-ranked men's cross country team won the District V Championship this weekend for the fifth time in six years.
Five of OSU's seven runners placed in the top-20 and two placed in the top-50.
Oklahoma State senior David Vasquez was the first Cowboy to cross the finish line with a second-place finish and a time of 30:29.
Freshman Johan Bergstrom finished 13th with a time of 30:54. Ben Lake and Bruce Wright placed 16th and 17th finishing with times of 31:04 and 31:05.
The last Cowboy to place in the top 20 was Jerry Rainey finishing with a time of 31:08 and a 20th-place finish.
Rounding out OSU harriers were Jason Woolhouse and Gregory Rouault. Woolhouse finished 29th with a time of 31:15 and Rouault finished with a time of 31:32 and a 39th-place finish.
With the win, OSU automatically qualifies for a berth in the NCAA Cross Country Championship on Nov. 20. in Ames, Iowa.
