Women's Equestrian Finishes Fourth In Two Shows

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl equestrian team finished fourth in both of the hunt seat shows held today at the Animal Science Arena.
Oklahoma State finished the first show with 17 points behind Kansas State, Texas A&M and West Texas A&M. In the second show, the Cowgirls scored 20 points, but finished behind Texas A&M, Kansas State and Louisiana State.
In the first show, the Cowgirls were led by Amber Burnett, who placed third in her section of novice fences and won her section of the novice flat class. Jennifer Lynn received third place in the open fences class, and Jennifer Baughman placed third in her section of the novice flat class.
Amber Henderson won one section of the walk-trot class, and Amy Noble was the reserve champion of her section. Whitney Holden won the beginning walk-trot-canter class, and Erika Wint placed second in her section of the walk-trot class. Trista Armstrong placed second in her intermediate flat section, and Katie Thomas won her section of walk-trot-canter. Sheila Dohmann added a reserve championship for the Cowgirls as she placed second in her section of the intermediate flat class.
In the second show, Beth Brady won her section of the walk-trot class, Sarah McVay won her section of the novice flat class and Whitney Holden won the beginning walk-trot-canter class. Casie Cavanaugh and Tracey Remshardt placed first and second, respectively, in section B of the walk-trot class.
The weekend will conclude at 8 a.m. tomorrow with the final hunt seat show. Admission is free, and a concession stand will be provided.
