Cowgirl Netters Compete at Riviera All-American

LOS ANGELES -- Oklahoma State's women's tennis team began pre-qualifying action at the Riviera Women's All-American Championships this weekend on the UCLA campus.
Three Cowgirls advanced in the first round of singles play on Saturday. Dominika Olszewska zipped past Washington's Andrea Coulter in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Katarzyna Kolodynska also won in straight sets. downing Jennifer Duprez 6-3, 6-3.
Linda Faltynkova needed three sets to advance, defeating Marshall's Anna Mitina 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
In Sunday's second-round action, Olszewska and Kolodynska both fell in three sets, losing to Lauren Fisher of UCLA and Boise State's Renate Stoop respectively. UCLA's Catherine Hawley defeated Faltynkova 6-0, 6-3 to move on to the third round.
In doubles play, Faltynkova and Kolodynska dropped UCLA's Jennifer Donahue and Hawley in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 before being eliminated by Tjasa Jezernik and Biljana Trpeska of Nevada.
