Quarterback Aso Pogi (328 yards passing) is the first Cowboy QB to
throw for over 300 yards in a game since Mike Gundy (315 vs Iowa State Nov.
18, 1989). It's the fourth-best passing day in OSU history. It also is the
best passing day by a freshman in OSU history (previous best: Mike Gundy,
275 vs Kansas, Oct. 25, 1986).
Aso Pogi set Cowboy season highs in completions (26), attempts (46) and
yards (328). He is the first OSU quarterback to attempt 30 passes or more
since Tone Jones threw 35 against Texas A&M on Nov. 2, 1996. He is also the
first QB to have 20 or more completions since Jones' 21 against Oklahoma on
Nov. 9, 1996.
Pogi's 26 completions was the third-most in OSU history, Mike Gundy
completed 27 against Kansas on Nov. 4, 1989, and Ronnie Williams had 27
against Nebraska on Oct. 12, 1985. His 46 attempts were the most since Kenny
Ford's 44 against Nebraska on Oct. 12, 1991.
Oklahoma State's first touchdown of the game came on the Cowboys'
longest drive of the season -- seven plays, 7:58.
Wide receiver Gabe Lindsay caught his first career touchdown on the
Cowboys' first scoring drive. He caught all six passes completed on that
drive.
Gabe Lindsay's eight receptions in the first half tied the Cowboys'
individual season high set by Rashaun Woods last week against Missouri. It
was also Lindsay's career high in receptions.
Receiver Marcellus Rivers' TD reception in the first quarter was his
second scoring grab of the season. It also extended his streak of at least
one reception in a game to 13 contests.
The Cowboys' 13 points scored in the first quarter were the most since
scoring 21 against Tulsa (Sept. 9) in the first game of the season, OSU's 26
total points are also the highest one-game total since the season opener and
are more than the Cowboys scored in their past three games combined.
OSU had five receivers with at least three receptions for the first
time since the 1989 season.
The loss snapped a two-game winning streak against Iowa State. 10 of
the last 11 contests against the Cyclones have been decided by 10 points or
less.
