Cowgirls Place In Tournament

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl equestrian team amassed 13 team points to tie for ninth place out of 23 teams in the Tournament of Champions Hunt Seat Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls tied with Virginia Tech, Berry College, and the University of the South.
"We are really proud of the girls," assistant coach Suzanne Flaig said. "Everyone rode really sharp. For a young team, they are definitely on the right track."
Oklahoma State had riders placing in every division in the show, and were led by Audrey Buck who placed second in the open fences class. In the walk-trot division, Amy Allen placed eighth, and Amber Higgins placed fifth in the walk-trot-canter class. In the flat competition, Amber Burnett placed sixth in the novice class, and Kristen Thomas placed sixth in the intermediate class. Allysa Allen placed fourth in novice fences, and Jackie Skibicki placed sixth in the intermediate fences division.
The Cowgirls will open their western season as they travel to College Station, Texas Feb. 12-13 to compete in two western shows.
