Hunt Seat Team Opens Spring Season

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's equestrian team will open its fall hunt season on Saturday as they travel to Nashville, Tenn. for the Tournament of Champions Hunt Seat Invitational. The show will begin at 9:30 a.m.
A seven-person team will be representing Oklahoma State at the show. Allysa Allen will compete in novice fences. Amy Allen will compete in the walk-trot competition, and Audry Buck will represent OSU in open fences. Amber Burnett will compete in the novice flat division, and Amber Higgins will enter the walk-trot-canter division for the Cowgirls. Jackie Skibicki will represent OSU in both the intermediate fences and the open flat competitions. Rounding out the team will be Kristen Thomas, who will compete in the intermediate flat division.
'Practice has been going well since we've been back from the winter break,' head coach Larry Sanchez said. 'We are looking forward to competing against some of the best hunt seat teams in the country. The girls have been working hard, and if they perform to the best of their ability, then we have a shot at winning the show.'
The Cowgirls are among 26 teams that were invited to compete in the show. Other teams that will be in attendance are: University of Connecticut, Mount Holyhoke, Penn State, University of Maryland, St. Lawrence University, University of Delaware, Virginia Intermont College, Middle Tennessee State, Tufts University, Miami (OH) University, Berry College, University of South Carolina, Stonehill College, Fairfield University, Clemson University, Ohio University, Fresno State, College of Charleston, University of the South, Colorado State, UNC-Greenboro, Purdue University, Wesleyan College, Colby Sawyer College and Virginia Tech.
