Cowboys Place Second at Jayhawk Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Oklahoma State's Cowboy cross country team earned 48 team points as they finished second out of 16 teams at the Jayhawk Invitational at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. today.
Second-ranked Arkansas won the men's division with 31 points. The Razorbacks, who finished as the national runner-up last year, had eight of nine participating runners finish in the top twenty.
All OSU participating runners finished in the top 50, and three Cowboys placed in the top ten as Oklahoma State posted an average time of 25:36.70. The Cowboys were paced by Brian Young who finished third with a time of 24:59.52. Both Chuck Sloan and Gitogo Churu also placed in the top ten. Sloan finished 8th with a 25:31.57 mark, and Churu recorded a time of 25:37.93 in his tenth place finish.
Both the men's and women's teams will be in action September 19th as the women travel to the Nebraska Invitational and the men will be running in the Big Cross 98.
