STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team will travel to Wichita, Kan., this Wednesday to face the Wichita State Shockers. Game time at Wilkins Stadium is set for 5:30 p.m.
Oklahoma State (12-13) is coming off a 4-2 record this past weekend at the Capital Classic in Sacramento, Calif. The Cowgirls defeated 16th-ranked Nebraska, 3-2, before falling to No. 25 Oregon in the championship bracket. Freshman Casey O'Neill was named to the all-tournament team.
Wichita State (10-17) hosted the Big 12's Missouri Tigers in a doubleheader Tuesday night.
Oklahoma State is 54-1 all-time vs. the Shockers, including a 54-game winning streak. That lone loss to WSU came in 1978, when the Cowgirls fell, 9-2, in the Sooner Invitational in Norman, Okla. Since then, OSU has won 54 straight.
The Cowgirls will open Big 12 Conference action this weekend as the Kansas Jayhawks come to Stillwater on Saturday for a noon doubleheader. On Sunday, the Mizzou Tigers will be on hand for another doubleheader starting at noon.
