Softball Sweeps Pair from Oklahoma City

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's eleventh-ranked softball team swept a doubleheader from defending NAIA national champion Oklahoma City Tuesday afternoon in Stillwater.
The Cowgirls won the first game in a mercy-rule situation as thy defeated the Lady Chiefs 9-1 in six innings. The Cowgirls won the second game 6-2.
In the first game, Leanne Tyler won in her first mound outing of the season. She allowed one run on nine hits. Liz Silva had a two-run triple and Jessica Crawford had a RBI double.
In the second game, the Cowgirls received a strong outing on the mound from Jenn Markert as she gave up two runs on six hits in seven innings of work. Kristine Garcia led the Cowgirls with a pair of RBIs and Jaime Foutch had two hits. Michelle Singer hit a home run for the Cowgirls in the fifth inning.
