Jennifer Olival then hit an RBI single, scoring O'Neill. Kristine Garcia, the Cowgirls leading hitter, then scored both runners with a double, and scored on a double one out later by Jaime Foutch. Paula Garman went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in.
In game two, O'Neill gave up four runs in the bottom of the first and the Redbirds added five more in the bottom of the sixth in a wild, 19-run game.
