OSU Sweeps WSU Gold Classic

WICHITA, Kansas - Both the Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country teams finished first at the Wichita State Gold Classic in Wichita, Kan. today.
The women's team placed first with a total score of 34, 16 points ahead of second place Wichita State. The women's team placed two runners in the top five and four women placed in the top ten. The men's team also finished first with a score of 19, 41 points ahead of second place Kansas State. Every runner placed within the top 20, with four placing in the top five.
The women's team was lead by Hanna Smedstad who won the race with a time of 17:58.2. Senior Tamara Dingley finished fifth with a time of 19:01.9. Jenny Koch and Andrene Thompson also finished in the top ten.
The men's team was lead by Brian Young who ran the race in 25:29.7. Chuck Sloan finished second with a 25:40.0, and Gitogo Churu, Jerry Rainey, and Rene Carlsen rounded out the top five.
