Cowgirls Move into Fourth in National Poll

STILLWATER, Okla. Oklahoma States Cowgirl softball team, coming off three impressive wins over ranked opponents last week, are ranked fourth in thelatest edition of the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll, it was announced Wednesdaymorning.
OSU had wins over Washington, ranked second in the previous poll, SouthCarolina (11th) and California (eighth). Oklahoma States only loss last weekwas to the Michigan Wolverines, ranked second in the latest poll.
It is the highest ranking for Oklahoma State since the end of the 1994 seasonwhen the Cowgirls finished third at the Womens College World Series and thirdin the poll.
The Cowgirls lead five teams from the Big 12 Conference that are ranked inthe top 25. Oklahoma is ranked sixth, Missouri ninth, Nebraska 15th and Kansasis 22nd.
Oklahoma State will travel to Fresno, Calif., this weekend to compete in theFresno State Softball Classic.
