STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's softball coaching staff signed Karla Rivera, a senior pitcher at LaSerna High School in Whittier, Calif., to a national letter of intent, it was announced today. She joins four fall signees for the 1999-2000 season.
Rivera is a right-handed pitcher that throws in the 59-63 mph range for her fastball. She was All-CIF two seasons, and named Most Valuable Player of her team and the league twice. Her team won the 18-under national championship.
"Karla will add depth to our staff," said OSU Associate Head Coach Margaret Rebenar. "She's had a lot of good summer ball (Amateur Softball Association) experience, and has pitched against some of the best players in the country at that level. She will make a fine addition to the team."
