Cowgirl Softball Opens 1999 Preseason

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team, preseason ranked 15th in the nation according to the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll, will open the 1999 season this weekend as the Cowgirls host a pair of tripleheaders.
On Saturday, Feb. 6, OSU will host Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, beginning at noon.
On Sunday, Feb. 7, the Cowgirls will entertain Connors State, also starting at noon.
Oklahoma State returns 11 players from last season's squad that finished fourth at the Women's College World Series, including three-time All-American Jaime Foutch. Other seniors returning for their final year are Casey Acree (Choctaw, Okla.), Sheryl Anderson (Orange, Calif.), Kristine Garcia (Phoenix, Ariz.), Michelle Singer (Stockton, Calif.), Shannon Sullivan (Los Gatos, Calif.), Melissa Turley (San Diego, Calif.) and Katie Wise (Downers Grove, Ill.).
The Cowgirls will open the regular season on Friday, Feb. 12, when OSU competes in the UTA/Pepsi-Cola Intercollegiate Tournament in Arlington, Texas.
Admission to this weekend's games is free.
