Cowgirls Solid On First Day Of Hurricane Invitational

TULSA, Okla. - The Oklahoma State Cowgirls had a successful first day at the seventh annual Hurricane Tennis Invitational in Tulsa on Friday.

The Cowgirls claimed four of their six singles matches and two of their three doubles contests. The opening round was highlighted by OSU's performance in the "1" Flight in both doubles and singles play, as the team won all four of their matches in the top flights.

Maria Galoustova and Dominika Olszewska both posted wins in the "1" Flight. Sophomore Ashleigh Dolman and Freshman Erin Pauchnik won their opening round matches in the "3" and "5" Flights respectively.

Olszewska teamed with Marketa Chmelova and notched an 8-3 decision in "1" Flight doubles. On the bottom half of the bracket, Dolman and Galoustova cruised to an 8-2 decision.

The tournament will continue on Saturday and conclude on Sunday.
