Cowgirls Finish Second At Hunt Seat Show

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's Cowgirl Equestrian team placed second in its first hunt seat show of the weekend this afternoon at the Animal Science Arena.
The Cowgirls scored 30 points, placing them just behind Texas A&M with 32 points on the afternoon.
"As a whole, the team performed exceptionally well," head coach Larry Sanchez said. "We would like to perform the way that we did today tomorrow."
Oklahoma State was led by sophomore Audry Buck and freshman Jackie Skibicki. Buck placed first in open fences and second in the open flat A class. Skibicki placed second in intermediate fences class and first in the open flat B division. Both riders were also involved in a ride-off to determine the high-point rider for the show, with Buck winning high-point honors.
Several other Cowgirls won their divisions, including Allysa Allen in the novice fences division and Sarah Hedrick in the open flat A class. Sophomore Susie Reed received top honors in the intermediate flat division, and junior Jennifer Baughman placed first in the advanced walk-trot-canter class.
The Oklahoma State Show will continue Saturday with a second hunt seat show beginning at 8 a.m. There will also be two western shows, one at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday and the second beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday. All shows will be held at the Animal Science Arena located just west of Western and McElroy roads. Admission is free to the public.
