2018-19: Earned a 12-7 record at 184 pounds and made his dual debut for the Cowboys in his redshirt-freshman season… Won seven bouts with bonus points attached including three pins, a technical fall and three major decisions… Scored four dual points for the Pokes in his lone dual appearance at Northern Colorado, defeating Dalton Robertson, 12-2… Took third place at the OCU Open and fourth at the Bob Smith Open… Competed at the Reno Tournament of Champions and went 3-2 at the Southern Scuffle.
2017-18: Finished the season with a 13-9 record, competing in open tournaments… Picked up six falls and two major decisions in those wins, including a 42-second pin… Finished fifth at the Lindenwood Open… Lost one match at the Golden Norsemen Open to bring home a third-place finish… Collected four of his six falls at the Bob Smith Open.
High School: Went 151-15 with 103 falls overall at Coweta High School under coach Josh Hughes … Finished eighth in Greco at Junior Nationals in 2017 to claim All-America status … A two-time Oklahoma State champ, pinning all of his opponents both years … Was named all-state in 2017 … Also played tailback on the football team … Was named to the All World Oklahoma Wrestling Team for 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Personal: Was born August 28, 1998, in Tulsa, Okla., to Josh Hughes and Sonya Hutson… Has four siblings, Grant, Lyndee, Remmi, and Stoney … Plans to major in engineering.
