Samantha Polomis joined the Oklahoma State University athletic training staff in August 2022 and is a certified athletic trainer working with the OSU’s women’s basketball program.
Prior to OSU, Polomis worked as a certified athletic trainer at the University of Kansas working with the men’s and women’s basketball programs from 2020 to 2022. During her time at KU, she acted as Interim Women’s Basketball Athletic Trainer from July-August 2021 and was a staff member on the Men’s Basketball 2022 National Championship team.
She completed her graduate studies at the University of Arkansas in May 2020, earning her Master of Athletic Training degree. As a graduate athletic training student, Polomis worked with the Fayetteville High School athletic training staff and closely with Arkansas’s track & field and gymnastics programs. Additionally, in 2019 she was a graduate athletic training student with the Northwest Arkansas Ballet Theater, a professional ballet company located in Bentonville, Arkansas.
As an undergrad, Polomis worked with the Arkansas football program. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology: Applied Exercise Science, from the University Arkansas in May 2018.
From May 2019 until August 2019, Polomis was an athletic training intern with the D.C. United Soccer Club in Washington, D.C. In her role with D.C. United, she developed therapeutic exercise programs for general maintenance and injury prevention. She used the Catapult GPS monitoring software, AlterG, and Blood Flow Restriction programs.
Polomis is a certified and licensed athletic trainer, a member of the NATA, has completed Postural Restoration Institute courses, is certified in dry needling, and is trained in Mental Health First Aid and Stop the Bleed.
Polomis, formerly Thomas, is a native of Marshfield, Missouri, and enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric, their dog, Bogey, and the rest of their family and friends.
