High School: Played for coach Brandon Craig at Oologah … Named The Oklahoman’s All-State Defensive Player of the Year as a senior after leading Oologah to its third straight Class 4A title game … An all-state selection in 2015 and 2016 and the 2016 district defensive player of the year … Finished his high school career with more than 50 sacks and 400 tackles … Senior stats included 152 tackles and 17 sacks in 14 games … Also totaled 17 tackles for loss and forced four fumbles … Missed five games of his junior season, but still totaled 96 tackles with 17 sacks … In five games without him, Oologah’s defense allowed an average of 21 points and that number dropped to approximately 12 points per game after he returned … Also dominated as a sophomore, recording 189 total tackles with 17 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, seven pass break ups, three forced fumbles and two safeties … A three-time state champion wrestler … Honored academically on the superintendent’s honor roll …Chose Oklahoma State over reported offers from Kansas State, Texas Tech, Baylor and others.
