Wrapped up his career by going 43-of-54 on field goal attempts to give him the fifth-highest field goal percentage in school history ... 2023 (Super Senior): Finished the final year of his collegiate career with a long list of honors both on the field and in the classroom ... On the field, he was the NCAA statistical champion with 2.08 field goals per game, a Lou Groza Award semifinalist for the second time in his career, a second team All-Big 12 selection by the league’s coaches and the Associated Press, and an honorable mention for Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year by the coaches ... In the classroom, he was a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America First Team honoree, a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honoree, a semifinalist for the William V. 2022 (Senior): One of three Cowboys and 14 total Big 12 players honored as a first team Academic All-Big 12 honoree while maintaining a 4.00 grade point average ... It was his fourth-consecutive year to make the first team ... Played in four games while backing up Lou Groza Award semifinalist Tanner Brown ... Played against UAPB, Baylor, Kansas and Iowa State ... Kicked off 19 times for a total of 1,204 yards with an average of 63.4 yards and six total touchbacks ... Went 2-for-2 on PAT attempts, making each of OSU’s final two against UAPB.
2021 (Junior): Earned first team Academic All-Big 12 honors for the third consecutive season ... Rehabilitated from a 2020 injury to return in time for the 2021 season ... Attempted 22 place kicks on the year and made 18 of them ... Went 3-for-6 on field goal attempts with a season-long of 35 yards, which he hit in OSU’s season-opening win over Missouri State ... His other made field goals came in the wins over Kansas State and Kansas ... Was included on the preseason watch list for the Lou Groza Award.
2020 (Sophomore): A Lou Groza Award semifinalist ... Earned first team Academic All-Big 12 honors for the second consecutive season ... An honorable mention All-Big 12 selection despite missing the final five games of the year ... Was getting mentioned as a candidate to win the Groza Award before sustaining a non-contact season-ending injury during pregame warmups against Oklahoma ... At the time of his injury, he was the FBS leader with 2.17 made field goals per game ... Though he only played in half of OSU’s games, he still finished as the team’s leading scorer by 21 points ... Converted on 13 of his 14 field goal attempts (92.9 pct.) ... Was three-for-three from 40+ yards, with a long of 44 ... Made three field goals against both Tulsa and Kansas ... Earned Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week after his effort against the Golden Hurricane ... Of his 13 kickoffs on the year, five resulted in touchbacks.
2019 (Freshman): First-team Academic All-Big 12 honoree ... Saw game action against both McNeese and Kansas State ... Kicked off five times for an average of 61.8 yards ... Two of those kickoffs came against McNeese, with the remaining three against Kansas State ... The average starting position for McNeese after his two kickoffs in that game was its own 14-yard line.

Before OSU: Arrived in Stillwater after training to be a kicker with John Carney at Carney Training Facility in Carlsbad, Calif. … Attended St. Edward’s College in Point Frederick, New South Wales, Australia … Earned all-district honors playing soccer, but did not play football … Also talented at surfing and wakeskating, becoming the Junior (Under 19) Wakeskate World Champion … Earned outstanding academic achievement honors at St. Edward’s College after finishing in the top five of his class … Active in community service, recording 30 hours each year from grades seven through 12.
Personal: Alex Hale was born in Gosford, New South Wales, Australia … Son of Glenn and Mira Hale … Father, Glenn Hale, was a semi-professional rugby player in Australia who was headed to the professional league before his career was derailed due to injury … Brother, Andre Hale, played college soccer … Majoring in Applied Exercise Science.
