HIGH SCHOOL: Two-time all-area selection at Apalachee High School, where he recorded a 2.40 ERA and 283 strikeouts in 196 innings pitched … as a senior, racked up 122 strikeouts in 75 innings to go along with a 1.69 ERA to help lead AHS to Class 5A state semifinals … went 6-4 as a junior with a 2.41 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 59 innings … also had two saves and opponents hit just .170 against him … earned a spot on the All-Region 8-AAAAA Second Team and was honorable mention all-state.
