2018-19: Coming off a redshirt year, went 21-8 for the Cowboys competing at 174 and 165 pounds… Compiled a 5-3 dual record with one technical fall, one major decision and his first pin inside Gallagher-Iba against Iowa State’s Marcus Coleman in 2:41… His three dual losses all came at the hands of top-10 competitors… Collected five falls along with four major decisions and technical falls over the course of the season… Took out No. 5 David McFadden of Virginia Tech at the Southern Scuffle on his way to a runner-up finish behind then No. 1 Mark Hall (Penn State)… Claimed first place at the Reno Tournament of Champions with three technical fall victories and the other two in the form of a pin and major decision in the finals… Took fifth place at the Big 12 Tournament, earning a spot at 165 pounds at the NCAA Championship in Pittsburgh... In the first year of completely seeded brackets, wrestled his way in via pigtail match, defeating Tyler Morland (Northwestern) and earning a matchup against No. 1 Alex Marinelli (Iowa)... Defeated No. 17 Jonathan Viruet (Brown) and No. 15 Connor Flynn (Missouri) in the consolation brack before suffering a close loss to ninth-seeded Demetrius Romero (UVU).
2017-18 (Redshirt Year): Went 7-0 during his redshirt season, competing in open tournaments … All but one of his wins came with bonus points, as he recorded two falls, a technical fall and three major decisions … Went 4-0 to take first at the Norsemen Open … Finished second at the Bob Smith Open.
2016-17: Went 16-6 overall at 157 pounds with a 4-3 mark in dual action … Tallied his second career All-America honor, finishing fourth at the national tournament with ranked wins over No. 8 Jake Short of Minnesota, No. 14 Sal Mastriani of Virginia Tech and No. 7 Dylan Palacio of Cornell … Won his second Big 12 title, dropping No. 8 Clay Ream of North Dakota State, 8-0, in the finals and outscoring his opponents, 32-0, for the tournament … Posted five wins over ranked foes … Finished second at the Southern Scuffle, picking up a 5-4 win over No. 8 Andrew Atkinson of Virginia in the semifinals to advance to the finals … Turned in seven bonus point wins with two technical falls and five major decisions … Two-time NCAA qualifier.
2015-16: Went 34-5 as a true freshman for OSU … Earned All-American status, finishing seventh at 157 pounds … Defeated No. 2 Tommy Gantt of NC State in the seventh-place match, 6-3 … Was seeded sixth for the NCAA tournament … 2016 Big 12 Champion at 157 pounds … Was pulled out of redshirt in mid-January … Won his first five dual matches … Victorious against seven ranked opponents this season, including a 5-4 upset over No. 8 Luke Smith of Central Michigan to reach the finals of the Reno Tournament of Champions … Finished runner-up at both the Reno Tournament of Champions and Southern Scuffle, losing to top-ranked Isaiah Martinez of Illinois and then-No. 3 Jason Nolf of Penn State in the finals of the events … Recorded five-consecutive falls en route to winning the OCU Open … 18 of his 30 wins resulted in bonus points (10 falls, 1 TF, 7 MD) … Won the Joe Parisi Open by defeating No. 17 Dylan Cottrell of West Virginia, 7-2, in the finals … First-time NCAA qualifier.
