Meylan repeats as Wilson/NFCA National Pitcher of the Week
May 05, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball's Ruby Meylan has been named the Wilson/NFCA DI Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week, the organization announced today.
Meylan began her week with a complete game one-hitter against Tulsa with nine strikeouts on Wednesday, which marked her ninth consecutive complete game of the season. Just two days later, she tossed six innings of one-run ball to take the series opener against Kansas on Friday. She tallied eight strikeouts and surrendered just four hits with no walks in the win. She helped secure the series over Kansas with her 19th complete game of the season on Sunday as she went 7.0 scoreless innings with just two hits and seven strikeouts.
Meylan went 3-0 on the week with a 0.35 ERA and 24 strikeouts compared to four walks. She was one of five pitchers in the nation to go 3-0 this week while leading the Big 12 in innings pitched (20.0). Her conference-best 24 punchouts outpaced the weekly totals of nine Big 12 teams.
Entering the weekend, Kansas was averaging 6.33 runs per Big 12 game. Meylan limited the Jayhawks to just one run across 13.0 innings of work.
The senior right-hander notched her 14th and 15th wins of Big 12 league play with the wins, making her the only pitcher in Big 12 history with 15 wins and at least 100 innings pitched in conference play.
The honor marks Meylan's fifth weekly award of the season, and the third Wilson/NFCA recognition of her career. She's the second pitcher this season to be named the Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week in back-to-back weeks, joining Belmont's Maya Johnson.
Meylan and the rest of the Cowgirls open their postseason with the Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship, as OSU's tournament begins at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, May 7, against the No. 7 seed, Utah, inside Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
