LINCOLN, Neb. – Game one of the NCAA Lincoln Super Regional between the No. 13 national seed Oklahoma State softball team and No. 4 Nebraska was suspended due to severe weather and will resume tomorrow, Friday, May 22, at 4 p.m. CT inside Bowlin Stadium.
Nearby lightning strikes two batters into the bottom of the first inning sent the Super Regional opener into a weather delay that it would not resume. The game officially entered a delay at 8:23 p.m. CT following a fielder's choice off the bat of Hannah Coor in the bottom of the first inning, with the game tied at 0-0 and a runner at first base. After initially announcing the contest would resume at 10:10 p.m. CT this evening, additional severe weather risk remained in the area, and the contest was officially suspended.
The game will be resumed at 4 p.m. CT tomorrow, May 22, which was the original start time for game two of the Super Regional. It will still be televised on ESPN2 with Chuckie Kempf and Jenny Dalton-Hill on the call. There will not be another game after game one is completed, with game two is set for Saturday, May 23, at 4 p.m. CT. Game three's start time, if necessary, is to be announced.
