STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball's Ruby Meylan and Rosie Davis were both named to the NFCA All-Midwest Region teams, the organization announced today.
Meylan received first-team recognition, while Davis earned second-team honors.
The Big 12 Pitcher of the Year leads all Power Four pitchers and is third in the NCAA with 222.0 innings of work while ranking inside the Top 15 in the nation in wins (27, third), shutouts (nine, fourth) and strikeouts (205, 12th). She became the first OSU pitcher with four ranked wins in the span of seven days earlier this season after knocking off then-No. 1/1 Oklahoma and then-No. 7/4 Texas, with a pair of wins against then-No. 16/16 Arizona in between.
Meylan's 27 wins are the most for an OSU pitcher since Kim Ward had 27 in 1997. She is five wins away from tying the single-season program record of 32 set by Melanie Roche in 1993.
Meylan has picked up first-team All-Region honors in every season of her collegiate career.
Davis, a first-team All-Big 12 honoree, leads the team with 48 runs scored and 25 extra-base hits while driving in 46 RBIs on the year. The Readyville, Tenn., native is one of 19 players in the Big 12 with double-digit totals in doubles (11) and home runs (14).
The junior third baseman also leads the team with 15 multi-hit games on the year and is second with 15 multi-RBI performances. Defensively, Davis owns a .969 fielding percentage after being shifted to third base this season following two years at second base.
This marks Davis' third NFCA All-Region honor of her career, and her second-straight first-team recognition.
Meylan, Davis and the rest of the Cowgirls open their NCAA postseason journey in the NCAA Stillwater Regional against Eastern Illinois at 3:30 p.m. CT tomorrow, May 15, inside Cowgirl Stadium. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+ with Trey Bender and Natasha Watley on the call, and fans can also listen on The Varsity Network app with Ryan Breeden on the call.
