Cowgirl Basketball Adds Long-Range Scoring Threat

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has added in-state product Ellie Brueggemann to its roster it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.
A native of Owasso, Okla., Brueggemann joins the Cowgirl program after spending the previous three years at Lindenwood University.
"I have known Ellie since I recruited her in high school when I was at UMKC. She is someone who has always stuck out to me as having the character and values that align with the culture our team hangs its hat on," Hoyt said. "She is one of the best 3-point shooters in the country and has great size and versatility and a hunger and gratitude for the opportunity on this stage in her home state."
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome her back home and know our fans will love her passion for representing the Cowgirls."
A 5-11 guard, Brueggemann averaged double figures in the scoring column in each of her three seasons with the Lions, earning All-Ohio Valley first-team honors each of the past two years.
Brueggemann started all 33 of the squad's games as a junior, averaging 14.0 points and 3.1 assists per contest. She shot 49.4 percent, including a 44 percent clip from beyond the arc, while helping the Lions to a 25-8 mark.
Her sophomore season saw her lead the team with her 12.0 points per contest while shooting 41.5 percent from the floor. In addition to all-conference honors, she was named an All-OVC Tournament Team selection.
Brueggemann garnered second-team all-league status as a freshman after starting all 28 of the team's contests. She averaged 13.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest on her way to being named to the OVC Newcomer Team.
An all-state performer for Lincoln Christian, Brueggemann was also a four-time all-conference performer during her prep career as well.
