Cowgirl Tennis Handles No. 36 Baylor

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's No. 26 ranked women's tennis team defeated No. 36 Baylor, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
With the win the Cowgirls improve to 8-6 overall and 5-2 in Big 12 play. The Cowgirls improve to 14-21 all-time against the Bears and have won nine of the last 10 against the Bears. OSU starts a road-trip to Utah as they take on Utah next Thursday and BYU on Saturday afternoon.
In doubles, Cowgirls secured the doubles point for the 11th time this season. Baylor struck first on court three, where Kennedy Gibbs and Luna Ivkovic defeated Melisa Ercan and Karolina Lincer, 6-2.
The Cowgirls claimed courts one and two to secure the doubles point. On court one, the No. 12 pair Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp defeated Zuzanna Kubacha and Gabrielle Villegas 6-3, improving to 11-1 this season. Olivia Lincer and Luca Udvardy bested Na Dong and Alian Zack 6-4, to claim the point for OSU.
In singles, the Cowgirls won courts two, four and five to secure the match. Baylor earned the first point on court six due to injury. Komar followed it up with her second win of the weekend, defeating No. 117 Kubacha 6-1, 7-6 (7-2), while No. 27 Nijkamp defeated Zack 6-2, 6-4.
The final point came when Ercan defeated Ivkovic 6-4, 7-5, securing the win for OSU. Ercan improves to 4-1 this season in singles. Two courts went unfinished with No. 74 Lincer leading No. 37 Dong 6-4, 2-6, 2-0, and Udvardy trailing Mu-Jie Tzeng, 5-7, 6-4, 0-1.
