STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State thrower Chase Jackson won her first career indoor and third career world title at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland.
Jackson defeated two-time defending world champion Sarah Mitton of Canada with a throw of 20.14 meters on her fourth attempt of the competition. This is her first career world indoor title after earning a silver medal in 2022 back-to-back bronze medals in 2024 and 2025. Jackson was also the first American woman to win a Shot Put world championship in 2022 outdoors and successfully defended the title in 2023.
Earlier this season, she broke the American Indoor Record in the Shot Put with her throw of 20.44 meters at the U.S. Indoor Championships last month. She also owns the American Outdoor Record of 20.95 meters. Overall, Jackson has won ten U.S. titles in the event and was a 2024 Olympian for the United States. She is the current world No. 1 in the women's Shot Put and has held the spot for 183 weeks in her career.
Jackson competed for OSU from 2013-16 and currently holds both the indoor and outdoor program records in the Shot Put. She finished her Cowgirl career as a three-time All-American and 12-time All-Big 12 honoree in addition to her runner-up finish at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the Shot Put.
