Cowgirl Quartet Picks Up All-Big 12 Honors

IRVING, Texas – Four members of the Oklahoma State women's basketball team were recognized on Tuesday with the announcement of the Big 12 postseason awards by the league office.
Stailee Heard, Micah Gray, Achol Akot and Jadyn Wooten all garnered all-league recognition with Heard earning second-team honors, Gray being named to the third team and Akot and Wooten each garnering honorable mention status.
Heard, who was named a first-team pick a year ago, ranks among the league leaders in rebounds per game (5.8), free-throw percentage (.814) and steals per game (1.8). The Sapulpa, Okla., native has started all 31 of the squad's games this year and is also averaging 12.1 points per game.
In OSU's win over Iowa State in Stillwater, Heard logged just the third triple-double in school history, finishing with 18 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. The junior has a pair of double-doubles as well.
Gray, who earned honorable mention status last year, leads the squad in scoring at 14.1 points per game and set the school's single-season record for made 3-pointers for the second year in a row (86). The senior from Oklahoma City currently ranks third among league players in 3-point field-goal percentage (.347) and leads the Big 12 with her 2.77 made treys per game.
On the national level, Gray ranks 12th with those 84 made 3-pointers and is 27th with her 2.77 made treys per contest.
In her first season as a Cowgirl, Akot received honorable mention status after averaging 11.7 points and 7.3 boards per contest. She ranks sixth nationally and second in the league in field-goal percentage at 62 percent. The junior has started all 31 games for OSU this year and ranks sixth among league players with her rebounds per game average.
The Toronto, Canada native has logged five double-doubles on the year, the ninth-best total among league players and ranks among the top 15 in the Big 12 in blocks per game (0.81).
Wooten has been one of the nation's top reserves this season, seeing action in 30 contests on the year, with her 12.4 points per game ranking second on the team. The sophomore is also pulling 3.5 rebounds per contest.
Wooten ranks sixth among league players with her 5.2 assists per game and leads the Big 12 in assist-turnover ratio (2.44). The Overland Park, Kan. native checks in at No. 14 nationally with her assist-turnover ratio as well. Wooten is 27th in the country with her 156 assists on the season.
