Billah Jepkirui earns multiple first team All-America honors as Cowboys and Cowgirls wrap up NCAA Indoor Championships
March 14, 2026 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma State men's and women's indoor track & field wrapped up the NCAA Indoor Championships with multiple All-America performances Saturday.
Cowgirl distance runner Billah Jepkirui opened Saturday's action in the women's Mile final, where she sat near the front of the field for much of the proceedings. In a sit-and-kick finish where the top six women were separated by just one second, Jepkirui placed fourth overall with her time of 4:40.70. With her finish, Jepkirui became the second Cowgirl to earn first team All-America honors, joining the Cowgirl DMR from the night before.
Her day was not over however as she would return just two hours later to compete in the women's 3,000 Meter final. Jepkirui sat near the back of the pack for much of the race before making multiple passes over the final 400 meters to snag the final All-American spot in the final straight. She would finish eighth overall with a time of 8:50.16 to bring the Cowgirls' point total to seven on the weekend.
Over in the field, Cowboy true freshman Kevin Kemboi competed in his first-ever NCAA Championship meet in the Triple Jump, earning second team All-America honors with his 13th-place finish overall. Kemboi improved with each of his three attempts and ended with a mark of 15.99 meters on the day.
With the indoor season concluded, the Cowboys and Cowgirls will take the action outdoors and will open their seasons at the TCU Alumni Invitational next weekend, March 20-21.
