January 28, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball was tabbed the preseason No. 2 in the Big 12 Conference and earned a pair of selections to the preseason team, it was announced today.
Texas Tech led the poll with 100 points and 10 first-place votes, while Oklahoma State finished with 87 points and one first-place vote. Arizona (77), Arizona State (77) and UCF (63) completed the top five.
Rosie Davis and Ruby Meylan were two of 18 athletes selected to the Big 12 preseason team.
Davis enters her third season in Stillwater and has solidified herself among the league's best hitters. A first-team All-Big 12 selection last year, the Readyville, Tenn., native led the team in batting average (.369), hits (59), RBIs (53) and on-base percentage (.469).
Meylan, a unanimous selection to the preseason team, collected NFCA All-America honors after her first season in America's Brightest Orange. The senior right-hander finished with a 21-10 record and a 1.81 ERA while being one of just 10 pitchers in the nation with at least 20 wins and at least 200 strikeouts (238).
Davis, Meylan and the rest of the Cowgirls open their season against Stanford at 8 p.m. CT on February 5 in Palo Alto, Calif.
