Preston Stout Tabbed As Big 12 Golfer of the Month

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's Preston Stout has been named the Big 12's Golfer of the Month for April it was announced today by the league office.
A native of Richardson, Texas, Stout led the second-ranked Cowboys to team victories in three of their starts, with OSU finishing first at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational and the Mountaineer Invitational before capturing their 12th Big 12 title.
OSU opened the month with a runner-up finish at the Maridoe Intercollegiate where Stout finished third with a 2-under tally of 214.
The sophomore standout fired rounds of 66, 68 and 71 for an 11-under total of 205 to finish in sole possession of third place in Augusta, before carding a 6-over total of 222 to share ninth place in West Virginia.
Stout would make history at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa where he became just the second Cowboy to win multiple Big 12 crowns, joining Morgan Hoffmann.
Stout posted three consecutive rounds of 70 at the historic venue before battling illness during the final round to fire a 3-under 67 and become just the second player in league history to win the event in consecutive years.
This spring, Stout has finished inside the top 10 in six of his last seven starts, with two victories and three third-place showings.
He has climbed to No. 12 in the NCAA Division I Individual Rankings.
