Cowboys Rise Into Second At NCAA Urbana Regional

Round 2 Results
URBANA, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team charged up the leaderboard during the second round of action at the NCAA Urbana Regional on Tuesday, climbing into a tie for second place at Atkins Golf Club.
The second-ranked Cowboys entered play in seventh place before firing the round of the day by five shots, a 9-under 275 to stand at 561 and tied with UNLV at the par 71, 7,533-yard layout. The duo will begin tomorrow's final round three shots off the pace of tournament host Illinois.
Four Cowboys broke par on Tuesday with Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson leading the way with his 68. The freshman rose 10 spots into a tie for ninth place with his 3-under score. Fahlberg-Johnsson turned in a blemish-free scorecard with two birdies on his outward nine. He would post eight pars and a birdie at the 12th to close his round.
Sophomores Ethan Fang, Preston Stout and Eric Lee all posted 2-under 69s.
Fang climbed 17 spots into a tie for 16th place after carding three birdies and an eagle, giving him a 142 total.
Stout posted four birdies during his round and also stands at 142 and in 16th place.
Lee's round included five birdies and saw him rise 21 spots into 36th place at 145.
Sophomore Gaven Lane followed an opening 69 with a 73 and is also tied for 16th place at 142.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. (CST) and will be grouped with Illinois and UNLV. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., which will take place May 23-28.
