TUCSON, Ariz. — The No. 18 Oklahoma State softball team lost a 3-0 decision in the rubber match of a three-game series with No. 11 Arizona Sunday at Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium.

The Cowgirls dropped to 23-11 overall and 5-5 in the Big 12. The Wildcats improved to 33-7 on the season and 10-5 in the conference.

After a scoreless two innings, Arizona got on the board in the third with an RBI single from Regan Shockey.

OSU's best scoring opportunity came in the sixth inning after the Cowgirls loaded the bases with only one out. The Wildcats got out of the jam without allowing a run, then added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom half of the frame on the strength of a two-run home run from Devyn Netz.

Ruby Meylan (15-4) took the loss for the Cowgirls, pitching for six innings with five strikeouts and six hits allowed. Netz earned the win and improved to 15-4, and Miranda Stoddard picked up her first save of the season.

The Cowgirls return to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday when they take on No. 3 Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
