April 03, 2025 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team added its third transfer in four days with the addition of forward Achol Akot it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.
"Achol is an instant upgrade in terms of athleticism for us. Her length and versatility will be a great addition on both ends of the floor because she can play around the rim and 15-foot range offensively. She can guard just about any position on the floor defensively. She will give us some much needed rebounding as well. I love her selfless attitude and hunger to be a part of a winning program and culture." Hoyt said.
A 6-1 forward, Akot spent the past two seasons at UCF. As a sophomore, she saw action in 29 games, starting 21 of those contests. Akot led the squad with three double-doubles and averaged 6.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. She shot 49.4 percent from the floor and led the Knights with 20 blocks on the year.
As a freshman, she played in 28 games and made 15 starts, averaging 5.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest. She finished the year with five double-digit rebounding outings and connected on 52.7 percent of her shots from the floor.
A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Akot averaged 15 points per game as a senior at Capital Courts Academy. She played internationally in the FIBA World Cup with the U19 Canadian squad, averaging 14.8 minutes, 2.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
