Meylan picks up Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State Softball's Ruby Meylan was named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week following two impressive performances in the circle last weekend in Orlando, Fla.

The Omaha, Neb., native picked up two wins in her two appearances against UCF, with a combined 20 strikeouts between both games, a mark that led the Big 12 Conference this week. In the Cowgirl's 7-0 win on Thursday, Meylan twirled one-hit, complete-game shutout and did not surrender any walks. On the week, she limited batters to a .137 batting average.

Meylan improved to 17-6 on the year and is leading the team with a 1.66 ERA.

This marks her third Big 12 weekly award of the season, which leads the conference.

Meylan and the Cowgirls return to action at 7 p.m. CT Wednesday for a non-conference matchup against No. 2/2 Texas in Cowgirl Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPNU and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
