Cowgirl Tennis Earns Second Consecutive Big 12 Regular Season Title

AMES, Iowa – No. 19 Oklahoma State shutout No. 65 Iowa State, 4-0, Sunday afternoon in Ames, Iowa, to clinch a share of its second consecutive Big 12 regular season championship.
This is the fifth Big 12 regular season title in program history and first time OSU has done it in back-to-back seasons since 2016-17. The Cowgirls finish the regular season at 18-6 and 12-1 in conference play, tying them with UCF and Texas Tech atop the final Big 12 standings.
Oklahoma State began play by winning the doubles point for the 11th consecutive match. Kylie Collins and Marcela Lopez got things started by defeating Mari Paz Vilar and Julia Camblor, 6-1. The No. 9 pairing of Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp followed that with a win against Anna Kuearum and Cristina Ramos Sierra, 6-3, to clinch the point.
In singles, OSU got points on courts two, four and five to secure the win. No. 70 Gracie Epps was the first to finish, defeating Suzanie Pretorius, 6-3, 6-1. No. 65 Komar followed that with a win over Camblor, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, before No. 121 Nijkamp beat Ramos Sierra, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, to clinch the match.
The Cowgirls will now prepare to defend their Big 12 tournament title in Waco, Texas, next week, with brackets and match times still to be determined.
