April 11, 2025 | Cowboy Baseball
TUCSON, Ariz. – Harrison Bodendorf turned in another career effort to carry Oklahoma State to a 4-2 win over No. 20 Arizona in 10 innings Friday night at Hi Corbett Field.
It marked the fourth consecutive Big 12 win for the Cowboys, who improved to 5-6 in the league and 16-15 overall. Arizona dropped to 22-10 and 8-5 in conference play.
Bodendorf was brilliant in the complete game performance as he improved to 7-1 on the season. Over the 10-inning outing, the southpaw allowed just one earned run and three hits while striking out 10; he threw 125 pitches.
Drew Culbertson and Jayson Jones each delivered two RBIs to lead the offense, and Brayden Smith singled to extend his hitting streak to 18 games.
The Wildcats struck first, taking advantage of a throwing error and plating an unearned run in the opening inning.
OSU would go on top in the fourth, getting a two-out, two-RBI single off the bat of Culbertson to take a 2-1 lead.
That score held up until one out in the bottom of the ninth when Aaron Walton delivered a solo home run to right-center field to tie the score at 2-2.
In the decisive 10th inning, Nolan Schubart drew a one-out walk, and Colin Brueggemann laced a double to center field to put two Cowboys in scoring position.
And Jones would deliver as he ripped the eighth pitch of his at-bat through the left side of a drawn in infield to bring home two runs.
The Wildcats brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the 10th after Andrew Cain reached second on an error to open the inning, but Jones made a diving catch on a line drive at third base to rob a hit before Bodendorf got a strikeout and a groundout to end the game.
The two teams return to action Saturday at 8 p.m. (CDT).
