DENTON, Texas. – Two home runs from Karli Godwin and a career-high seven strikeouts from Katie Kutz led the No. 13/15 Oklahoma State softball team to a 10-2 victory over North Texas at Lovelace Stadium Wednesday.
The Cowgirls held a 13-2 advantage in hits and improved to 15-4 overall with the win. The Mean Green dropped to 16-5.
Rosie Davis opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning, her fourth of the year. North Texas tied the game with a pair of unearned runs in the second.
Godwin broke the tie for the Cowgirls with a solo home run in the third inning, and Tia Warsop extended the lead to three with a two-run double. Megan Bloodworth added another run with a well-executed sacrifice bunt to bring Warsop home.
Godwin struck her second home run in the contest with Davis on base in the sixth inning to give Oklahoma State a six-run lead.
The Cowgirls added two more runs in the seventh with Bloodworth scoring off a North Texas error and a groundout from Davis that scored Megan Delgadillo.
