Meylan tabbed Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week
March 04, 2025 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball's Ruby Meylan was named the Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week following her impressive week in the circle, the organization announced today.
Meylan was also named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week earlier today. The national honor marks the first of her career, while the Big 12 award is the second conference weekly award of her career (won Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week while at Washington). Meylan is the third OSU pitcher in school history to sweep both weekly awards, joining Anna Whiddon (2010) and Lexi Kilfoyl (2024, three times) as the only Cowgirls to do so.
The Omaha, Neb., native was elite in the circle all week as she was undefeated with a 6-0 showing, including wins over then-No. 18/16 Nebraska and RV/RV Missouri. Meylan shut batters down as she tallied 30 strikeouts in 23.1 innings of work and held opposing batters to a .068 batting average.
In a battle between All-America pitchers on Feb. 28, Meylan bested Nebraska's Jordy Bahl behind a complete-game two-hitter with nine strikeouts and only one walk to lead the Cowgirls to a 1-0 victory over the Cornhuskers.
Meylan and the Cowgirls return to action at 6 p.m. tomorrow, March 5, on the road against North Texas. Fans can stream the game on ESPN+ or listen on the Varsity Network app with Ryan Breeden on the call.
