PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will be back in action on Monday when it begins play at the Pauma Valley Invitational at Pauma Valley Country Club,
The fifth-ranked Cowboys enter play having finished second in their last two starts and winning their two events prior to that.
Former Cowboy Jonas Baumgartner captured medalist honors a year ago at the event after posting a 9-under 204 total. He clipped current Cowboy Ethan Fang, a freshman at Cal at the time, who closed with a 65 to finish at 205.
Head coach Alan Bratton's squad will be one of 15 teams in action at the par-71, 7,311-yard layout. OSU will begin its first round at 10:25 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with SMU, Tennessee and Ole Miss.
Fang, who currently ranks sixth nationally, will be joined in the lineup by fellow sophomores Preston Stout, Eric Lee and Gaven Lane as well as freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson. Junior John Wild will compete individually.
Stout tied for 12th place at last year's event, while Lane tied for 58th place. Like Fang, Lee competed for Cal and tied for 37th place. Wild was also in the field as an individual and tied for 78th place.
