PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – A near-shutout for Louisiana Tech pitcher Allie Floyd and two errors contributed to No. 4 Oklahoma State's 6-1 loss on Friday at Nancy Almaraz Field.

The loss, which marked the first of two Cowgirl games Friday, drops the Cowgirls to 1-1 overall, while the Bulldogs improve to 2-1.

Louisiana Tech grabbed some momentum in the 2nd inning, scoring off of only one hit. A couple of walked batters allowed Addison Snyder and Claire Raley to grab two runs for the Bulldogs, and a fielder's choice and error led to two more runs on the next at-bat for KB Briley and Nicole Hammoude.

The Cowgirls got back on the board in the top of the sixth inning thanks to a Miceala Wark RBI single bringing Macy Graf home.

Louisiana Tech immediately responded in the sixth with a score off of a throwing error and an RBI single from Hammoude.

Kyra Aycock took the loss for the Cowgirls, making her 0-1. Allie Floyd grabbed the win for the Bulldogs and improved to 2-0.

Offensive standouts for Oklahoma State included Micaela Wark (1-3 with an RBI), Amanda Hasler (1-3 with 2 stolen bases), and Karli Godwin (1-3 with 2 stolen bases.)

After the doubleheader, the Cowgirls will wrap up the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge tomorrow at 7 p.m. with a rematch of No. 9 Florida State. The game will be streamed on FloSoftball and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
