Hunter Vaughn breaks school record in 60 Meter Hurdles as OSU Indoor Track & Field adds another successful showing at Steve Miller Invitational
February 07, 2025 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Oklahoma State Indoor Track & Field traveled back to the Cliff Rovelto Indoor Track in Manhattan, Kan., for the second weekend in a row to compete in the Steve Miller Invitational.
In a season that has already seen seven Oklahoma State program records be broken, Hunter Vaughn added another historic performance to the list on Friday. Vaughn's time of 8.10 in the men's preliminary 60 Meter Hurdles secured him first place in program history, narrowly edging out Philip Frank's previous record of 8.11 that was set at last year's Arkansas Invitational. In the finals, Vaughn once again broke the school record, posting a swift time of 8.03.
In the field, Emma Robbins continued her dominant season with another first-place finish in the women's Weight Throw with her toss of 20.50 meters. Through her first three meets in a Cowgirl uniform since transferring from Kansas State prior to this season, Robbins has taken home two first-place finishes and one second-place finish in the event.
On the men's side, Sam Mason finished third in the men's Weight Throw with his 19.28 meter throw. Blake Wynne placed sixth in the men's Long Jump with a 7.33 meter effort, seventh best in program history. Back on the track, Ty Cook placed second in the men's 600 Yards with a time of 1:09.25, the fourth best mark in Cowboy history. Jordon Smith, Mason Page, and Ben Currence finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the event, respectively.
For the Cowgirls, Katie Chapman's time of 8.69 in the 60 Meter Hurdles places her third all-time in the Oklahoma State record books. Kalen Goodman added to her impressive freshman campaign with a second-place finish in the 600 Yards. Right behind her was Ansley Scott in third place, posting a time of 1:22.54. Freshman Kailey Littlefield picked up her first win in a Cowgirl uniform in the women's 1,000 Meters with a 2:53.97 mark as she led the race from wire-to-wire.
The Cowgirls wrapped up the day's festivities with a win in the women's 4x400 Meter Relay, with their time of 3:42.12 setting a new Steve Miller Invitational meet record. The Cowboys produced a second place worthy time of 3:10.63 in the men's 4x400 Meter Relay, ninth best in program history.
Oklahoma State Indoor Track and Field will return to the track next weekend at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., Feb. 14-15.
