Cowgirl Tennis Falls to No. 9 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team was swept by No. 9 Ohio State on Sunday afternoon at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in Columbus, Ohio.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fall to 6-5 on the season and will return home next weekend to open conference play against Houston on Friday and No. 20 UCF on Sunday.
As always, the match began with doubles, with Ohio State earning the point. Audrey Spencer and Nao Nishino were the first to get a win for the Buckeyes, beating No. 73 Gracie Epps and Marcela Lopez, 6-0.
Kylie Collins and Alian Zack answered for the Cowgirls on court two, beating Dani Schoenly and Alessia Cau, 6-3, but No. 41 Teah Chavez and Luciana Perry defeated No. 72 Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp, 6-4, to secure the doubles point for Ohio State.
In singles, the Buckeyes got straight-set wins on courts one, four and six to complete the sweep. First, No. 79 Spencer bested Zack, 6-0, 6-2, before No. 9 Perry defeated No. 88 Komar, 6-2, 6-4. Shelly Bereznyak finished off the win for Ohio State with a 6-1, 6-2, win over No. 44 Epps.
Three matches went unfinished, with Collins leading No. 47 Chavez, 6-4, 2-4, while Nijkamp trailed No. 86 Nishino, 2-6, 3-5, and No. 89 Lopez was behind Sydni Ratliff, 1-6, 4-5.
