December 04, 2025 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State punter Wes Pahl and edge rusher Wendell Gregory received All-Big 12 recognition Thursday, as Pahl was named to the first team and Gregory was named the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, as well as to the third team.
Gregory's selection as the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year marks the third time in the past five seasons that an Oklahoma State student-athlete has received the honor. It is the fifth time overall that a Cowboy has been named Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year.
A redshirt freshman from Marietta, Georgia, Gregory was also honored on the All-Big 12 team as a third team selection on the defensive line, becoming the first Cowboy freshman honored as an all-conference defensive lineman since Collin Oliver in 2021. Gregory led all FBS freshmen with 12.0 tackles for loss this season.
With Pahl's selection to the first team, he becomes the first Cowboy all-conference punter since Zach Sinor was a second team honoree in 2016. He is the first Cowboy punter to receive first team all-conference recognition since Quinn Sharp in 2012. Pahl's 46.48 yards per punt led all Big 12 players and ranked No. 8 in the FBS. It also set the school record for yards per punt in a season, breaking the record Pahl set in 2024.
Additionally, offensive lineman Bob Schick and linebacker Brandon Rawls received honorable mention honors for the All-Big 12 team.
Selections are made by the league's head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own players.
