Crill and O’Guin Join Cowboy Football Coaching Staff
December 23, 2025 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football coach Eric Morris continued building his coaching staff Tuesday, naming Cody Crill as offensive line coach and Mike O'Guin as assistant defensive line coach.
Crill worked under Morris as his offensive coordinator at Incarnate Word from 2018-21 and joined him again as the North Texas offensive line coach in 2025. O'Guin has experience working with OSU defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity, as they were both graduate assistants at Texas Tech in 2019.
A 22-year coaching veteran with experience as a head coach and offensive coordinator, Crill has held an offensive line coaching title for eight seasons.
He's worked with potent offenses throughout his career, including being part of a UNT offense in 2025 that leads the FBS in scoring offense, total offense and first downs and was among the top five in passing offense (second), pass efficiency (third) and more. His offensive line also paved the way for UNT running back Caleb Hawkins to lead the nation in scoring, total touchdowns and rushing touchdowns, and for UNT quarterback Drew Mestemaker to lead the FBS in passing yards and rank No. 2 in passing touchdowns.
O'Guin, who served as the defensive line coach at Texas State for the past three seasons, is a 15-year coaching veteran who has worked with defensive linemen throughout his career.
During his time at Texas State, he helped guide the Bobcats to three bowl games. In his first season there in 2023, O'Guin coached a defensive line that helped the Bobcats lead the nation in tackles for loss and rank among the top 10 in sacks. The unit nearly broke the overall program record for tackles for loss in a season with 110.0 and set the program's FBS record for most sacks in a season with 40.0.
O'Guin got his start in coaching as a student assistant at SMU, where a knee injury ended his playing career after one season with the Mustangs.
All university hires are pending completion of a background check.
