Brophy Named OSU’s Offensive Coordinator

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football coach Eric Morris named the first member of his offensive coaching staff Thursday, hiring Sean Brophy as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Brophy has worked under Morris throughout his five-year career in college football, including stops at Incarnate Word, Washington State and North Texas. He also played quarterback for Morris for two seasons at UIW.
He earned his first full-time coaching role as the UNT quarterbacks coach in 2023 and was promoted to passing game coordinator in 2025 while maintaining his role with quarterbacks.
A 2018 UIW graduate, Brophy has helped the UNT passing offense rank 12th, fourth and second in his three seasons in Denton.
Under his guidance this year, UNT quarterback Drew Mestemaker leads the FBS in passing yards and passing yards per game, while ranking No. 2 in passing touchdowns, No. 3 in passing efficiency and points responsible for, No. 4 in total offense and passing yards per completion, No. 6 in points responsible for per game and No. 10 in completion percentage.
Prior to Mestemaker taking the full-time starting role this season, Brophy coached a pair of UNT quarterbacks who passed for more than 3,000 yards while finishing inside the FBS top 10 in passing touchdowns in each of his first two seasons with the Mean Green.
Brophy was a three-year quarterback at UIW after transferring from Glendale Community College prior to the 2017 season. At UIW, he played for Morris his final two seasons, helping the Cardinals to a Southland Conference title in 2018.
A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Brophy graduated with a bachelor's degree in English in 2018 and a master's of business administration in 2019.
