Quick Summary:
- Down three injured starters, Oklahoma State put away pesky Kansas City to improve to 10-1 on the season.
- The visiting Roos took their first lead, 60-59, with 12:27 remaining, but the Cowboys outscored them 32-19 the rest of the way. They made their last 10 field goal attempts of the night to finish at 58.1%.
- Christian Coleman led the Cowboys with his second double-double of the season, totaling 20 points to go with 10 rebounds.
Series Info:
- OSU improved its all-time record against the Roos to 10-0, with nine of those wins coming by double-figures. The Cowboys are 6-0 in Stillwater.
Team Notes:
- The Cowboys claimed their 10th win of the season — one full month ahead of last year's pace (Jan. 18) and faster than all but three teams in OSU history – 2001 (Dec. 17), 2006 (Dec. 5) and 2013 (Dec. 17).
- OSU has won 11 consecutive regular-season home contests going back to last season – the program's longest streak in more than a decade.
- Minus two front court starters, the Cowboys still dominated inside, outscoring the Roos 56-28 in the paint and outrebounding them 41-29.
- OSU's 56 paint points were its highest total since Nov. 26, 2021 at ORU (also 56).
- The Cowboys reached the 80-point mark for the ninth time this season. They are 22-0 under Steve Lutz when reaching that threshold.
- The Pokes have hit the 90-point mark six times already this season, surpassing their total from the last three seasons combined.
- OSU is now 21-4 at Gallagher-Iba Arena under Lutz, including 13-0 in non-conference regular season matchups.
- Lutz improves to 96-54 (.640) in parts of five seasons as a head coach (27-19 with OSU).
- OSU is now 878-268 (.766) all-time inside GIA, including 462-60 (.885) in regular-season non-conference games.
Individual Notes:
- Starting in place of an injured Lefteris Mantzoukas, Christian Coleman paced the Cowboys with a season-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. It's the sixth time this season Coleman has finished with at least 15 points.
- Coleman's 20-10 (point-rebound) performance is the first since Javon Small had 29 and 10 against Notre Dame on Nov. 17, 2023.
- Coleman has dunked at least once in seven straight contests. He has a team-high 15 this season.
- Sophomore forward Andrija Vukovic made his first career start in the absence of OSU's senior forward Parsa Fallah, who missed the contest due to injury. Vukovic finished with 11 points and three rebounds.
- Vukovic becomes the 11th different Cowboy to start a game this season.
- Freshman Benjamin Ahmed, who missed the first nine contests following a preseason foot injury, made his collegiate debut against the Roos. He totaled six points and seven rebounds, including a board and a bucket within his first two seconds on the court.
- Junior guard Kanye Clary suffered an injury just 78 seconds into the first half and did not return. Prior to it, he recorded two steals and an assist.
