Richmond Returns to Cowboy Football
December 17, 2025 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football coach Eric Morris named another defensive addition to his coaching staff Wednesday, hiring former Cowboy student-athlete and coach Greg Richmond as defensive line coach.
A standout at Oklahoma State during his playing days, Richmond was a four-year Cowboy letterman from 2000-03, earning first team All-Big 12 honors in 2003. He remains on OSU's single-season and career top 10 lists for quarterback sacks.
In addition to his playing career, Richmond also had two previous stints on the OSU football staff. He served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2007-08 and was OSU's defensive line coach from 2018-22.
He worked for Morris at North Texas in 2025 and has worked with new OSU defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity each of the past two seasons, at UNT in 2025 and at Sam Houston in 2024.
A 2003 OSU graduate, Richmond has more than 15 years of coaching experience, 14 of which were spent working with defensive linemen.
All university hires are pending completion of a background check.
